Fuel conservation cost McLaren '50 seconds'
McLaren's racing director, Eric Boullier believes McLaren lost 50 seconds over the course of the Russian Grand Prix, thanks to the amount of fuel both drivers needed to save over the course of the Grand Prix. Alonso came ‘fully recovered' to Russia after his crash in Australia, and bagged his first points of the season, with an ‘impressive' sixth place, and Jenson Button also came home in tenth place, to collect the final world championship point, at the ‘flat-out' Sochi circuit.
