Kvyat apologises for first lap Vettel clash

Red Bull/Getty Images Daniil Kvyat has apologised to Ferrari rival after they clashed on the opening lap for a second successive race in Russia. Kvyat hit Vettel under braking for Turn 2 and clipped the Ferrari driver once more at Turn 3, the latter contact sending Vettel into the barriers. Kvyat was handed a 10 second stop and go penalty for causing the collision and had three penalty points added to his license. "There was a bit going on obviously in the last moment I didn’t expect to slow down so much I started to press the brake pedal but there was not much in it and started to lose control," he said, after finishing a lowly 15th.
