Kvyat hoped for more from Q3

Russian Grand Prix – Local favourite Daniil Kvyat was generally pleased with his qualifying efforts, but admitted that he'd hoped for a better result in the final part of qualifying. The Russian Red Bull Racing driver narrowly progressed into the third part of qualifying, eliminating Carlos Sainz in the process. From there, Kvyat managed to qualify in eighth place for today's race, being out-qualified by his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo. Speaking after the session, Kvyat was pleased with his qualifying efforts, but blamed understeer – caused by cold tyres – for losing time on his final run.
