Hamilton back on top as Vettel hits more trouble

Lewis Hamilton returned to the top of the timesheets during second free practice for the Russian Grand Prix, while Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari struck more trouble in Sochi. Having trailed team-mate Nico Rosberg in FP1, Hamilton was on form in the warmer second session, his super-soft lap offering up a 1min 37.583secs benchmark, putting him seven tenths clear of Sebastian Vettel despite enduring more than one off as he found the limit of the slippery Sochi Autodrom venue. FP1 pace setter Rosberg, meanwhile, dropped nine tenths to Hamilton this time, though the margin can be explained away by the championship leader suffering with traffic on his quickest lap.
