Red Bull to run canopy in Sochi practice

– Red Bull will run its canopy-style cockpit protection system during Friday morning's first free practice for the Russian Grand Prix, following on from team boss Christian Horner's suggestion of a trial.Horner revealed at the previous round in China that Red Bull would be carrying out further static testing with the canopy, before deciding whether or not to give it a public outing at Sochi Autodrom.According to the official Formula 1 website, Red Bull has elected to test the canopy in FP1, in order to get on track driver feedback, after Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat's recent in-house simulations.Formula 1 plans to implement increased cockpit protection from the 2017 season, with...
