Steiner: Extra test days for new teams
Haas team boss Guenther Steiner says it would be 'nice' if new teams were granted extra days of testing but admits it is 'wishful thinking.' Although Haas made an incredible start to their F1 career, scoring points in the opening two grands prix, they were unable to get the most out of their car in Shanghai. Esteban Gutierrez took the chequered flag in 14th place, the first driver one lap down, while his team-mate Romain Grosjean was P19. It was the sort of weekend that Steiner reckons new teams could deal with better if they had 'three or more days' extra in which to test. 'As a new team, I would want an opportunity to test a few more days than the other teams,' said the team principal....
