Steiner: ‘New F1 teams should get more testing'

Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner believes that new teams within the sport should be allowed opportunities for more testing, in order to ease their entry into Formula One. Despite his new US outfit having greatly impressed so far in their debut season, with Romain Grosjean currently sitting eighth in the championship, Steiner thinks the chances for track running are too limited. He suggested one method to help new emerging teams and also to level the field would be to allow special dispensation for additional testing. 'As a new team, I would want an opportunity to test a few more days than the other teams.' he declared. 'Give the new teams a freebie with three or more days of testing...
