WMSC approves Pirelli's 25-day test plan for 2017 tyres

The World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has given Pirelli the go-ahead to begin testing its 2017 tyres during the current season, as it gears up for major changes next year. Pirelli put forward plans earlier this week, demanding 25 days of in-season testing with current 2015-spec cars, otherwise it would be forced to walk away from the sport. Those plans were approved on Monday during an initial vote and have now been given the final green-light by the WMSC.
