F1 teams bank on supersoft tyres for Russian GP
Formula 1 teams will bank on the supersoft tyres in the Russian Grand Prix next week, according to the tyre selections revealed by Pirelli for the Sochi race. Two teams - Red Bull and Haas - have opted for a total of 10 sets of the supersofts for the event. Ferrari and Mercedes have chosen different approaches for the Russian race, the Italian squad selecting more soft tyre sets than any other team with six. Mercedes has picked four sets of softs and eight sets of supersofts to Ferrari's six of the latter. All the teams except Manor have chosen a single set of medium tyres, which is among the two mandatory compounds for the race. The British squad will have two sets of the harder compound....
