Rosberg on pole, ERS problem hampers Hamilton – Qualifying Report

Chinese Grand Prix – Mercedes will start the Chinese Grand Prix with their cars at either end of the grid, with Nico Rosberg taking pole position ahead of Daniel Ricciardo after ERS problems for Hamilton. Following the very wet third free practice session earlier in the day, qualifying was met damp, overcast and blustery conditions, with most drivers opting to fit the intermediate tyres at the start of the session. On the initial laps about to get under way, Manor's Pascal Wehrlein lost control of his car on the start/finish straight after driving through a big wet patch which stretched across the width of the track.
