Bite-size tech: Williams' rear suspension nodule

It's fair to say that Williams is yet to fully exploit the potential of the FW38, but as is always the case it continues to investigate its own development avenues. Whilst the nodule on the FW38's rear suspension is not new, it is worth further study. The suspension elements on all of the challengers are faired, in order to improve their aerodynamic footprint. In the case of Williams, we can see that it has created a small nodule on the upper rear wishbone (highlighted in green) in order to shape airflow in conjunction with other components. The nodule has an influence over the direction of the airflow being generated by the main cooling outlet and the detached hoop, which are both changed...
