Alonso Faces Thursday Medical Examination
Chinese Grand Prix – Fernando Alonso will find out if he is able to compete in this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix when he undergoes a routine medical examination on Thursday. The McLaren driver was forced to miss the Bahrain Grand Prix after he failed the mandatory medical examination as a result of the injuries sustained at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Whilst Alonso has expressed confidence at being declared fit enough to race in this weekend's event, McLaren's racing director Eric Boullier has confirmed that Stoffel Vandoorne – who stood in for Alonso at the Bahrain Grand Prix – is ready if Alonso fails the medical. “Once again, Stoffel will be on standby...
