Wehrlein: 'I was aiming for Q2!'

Bahrain Grand Prix – Pascal Wehrlein provided one of the surprises of qualifying when he managed to place his Manor car in 16th place on the grid. The Mercedes development driver made a late improvement during the first session of qualifying to avoid an early elimination and secure Manor's best qualifying result in over a season. When speaking to the media after the qualifying session, Wehrlein conceded that the team were not performing as expected at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
