Celis to make practice debut in Bahrain

Sahara Force India Force India development driver Alfonso Celis Jr. will make his Formula 1 weekend debut in Bahrain, when he participates in the first practice session next Friday. Celis Jr. joined the outfit at the end of 2015 and will take part in seven Friday sessions, the first of which will be next weekend, in place of compatriot Sergio Perez. Celis Jr. made his test debut in Abu Dhabi last year and also completed a day of running in the VJM09 during the first pre-season test in Spain. The Mexican placed 12th in his second season of GP3 last year and in 2016 is set to compete in Formula V8 3.5.
