Vettel rues 'aggressive' tyre strategy
Scuderia Ferrari Sebastian Vettel was left to rue an aggressive tyre strategy as he lost his chance of victory at the Australian Grand Prix. Vettel surged into the lead at the start and maintained a slender advanatage over Kimi Raikkonen and Nico Rosberg until the race was red flagged following a collision between Fernando Alonso and Esteban Gutierrez. Ferrari kept Vettel on a set of Super Soft tyres in the pit lane while Mercedes switched Rosberg to the Medium compound tyre. Vettel had to pit once more, handing the lead to Rosberg, while his chase of Lewis Hamilton ended unsuccessfully after sliding wide at the penultimate corner, as he secured third place.
