COTA confirms 2016 USGP will go ahead

– Circuit of the Americas chiefs have confirmed that the venue will host the United States Grand Prix for a fifth consecutive year in 2016, after it was initially listed as provisional on the Formula 1 calendar.Austin was given provisional status on the most recent versions of Formula 1's 2016 roster, published by the FIA, "subject to agreement with the promoter and the ASN [National Sporting Association]."COTA's subsidy from the Texas state government had been significantly cut from $25 million to $19.5 million, following a 2015 event that was troubled by adverse weather conditions.Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone recently stated that he was "absolutely" sure...
