COTA formally confirms 2016 US Grand Prix

Red Bull/Getty Images Officials at the Circuit of the Americas have formally confirmed that it will host the 2016 United States Grand Prix, following months of uncertainty. The event's future was in doubt after the 2015 running was beset by adverse weather conditions, a situation which was exacerbated by a cut in state funding after Texas reviewed its financial position. That led to its position on the 2016 calendar issued by the FIA remaining provisional, but the circuit has now confirmed that this year's event will be held on the weekend of October 21-23.
