Pirelli confirms Azerbaijan GP compounds

Pirelli Media Pirelli has confirmed the compounds which will be used when Formula 1 makes its inaugural visit to Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, later this year. Formula 1's sole tyre supplier will bring the Super Soft, Soft and Medium tyres for the race, which will take place around the streets of Baku. The selection is the same as for the opening four races, which take place in Australia, Bahrain, China and Russia. Under revised 2016 regulations, drivers are permitted free tyre choice for 10 of the 13 compounds, with two set aside for the race and a set of the softest tyres restricted solely for use in Q3.
