Pirelli announces tyre choices for Canadian GP

Pirelli has announced its three compound choices for the 2016 Canadian Grand Prix, the seventh round of the Formula 1 season. The Italian manufacturer will take the ultrasoft, the supersoft and soft tyres to the Montreal race, with the purple ultrasoft being chosen for the first time in the season.  The two sets of mandatory tyres for the race will be the soft compound tyres while one set of the ultrasoft will be assigned for Q3 in qualifying.  Under new regulations, all drivers need to save a set of ultrasofts for Q3. That set will be returned to Pirelli only by those who qualified in the top 10, while the rest of the field is able to keep it for the race.
