Formula 1 set for knockout qualifying

– Formula 1 could be set for an overhaul of its qualifying format after a meeting of the F1 Strategy Group and F1 Commission in Geneva on Tuesday.Formula 1 has used a one-hour, three-stage knockout system since 2006, with drivers eliminated after the first two sessions and a top 10 shootout taking place to decide pole position.Under the amended qualifying system, the format of having Q1, Q2 and Q3 will be retained, however the process of elimination has been altered.Q1 will last 16 minutes and, after seven minutes, the slowest driver will be knocked out of the session, with the process repeated every 90 seconds.Q2 will be 15 minutes in length and the slowest driver will be eliminated...
