Elimination-style F1 qualifying set for approval

A new live elimination-style qualifying format could be introduced to Formula 1 after teams came to an agreement as part of plans to improve the show. Key figures in the sport met in Geneva today to discuss a number of topics aimed at establishing the future direction of F1, with a qualifying shake-up emerging as the most radical change tabled. According to FIA sources, it is understood teams are keen to introduce a live elimination-style format, which will see the slowest car forced out every 1.5 minutes.
