Vettel tops first day of pre-season testing
– Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari set the pace on the opening day of the first pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, ahead of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, who covered two race distances.Vettel worked his way down to a 1:24.939 as an initially damp track dried out, posting the benchmark on a Medium-tyre run.Hamilton finished just under half a second adrift, also on the Medium rubber, but racked up a staggering 156 laps during the day.Hamilton's haul, equivalent to 726.180km, eclipsed the opening day haul of the W07's predecessor, which amassed 695.196km.Daniel Ricciardo debuted the Red Bull RB12 contender shortly after the first studio shots were released, slotting in front...
