Magnussen, Palmer confident they are right for Renault job

Kevin Magnussen feels the combination of himself and Jolyon Palmer will be enough to spur the Renault team on when it makes its return to F1 competition in 2016. The Dane, who made his F1 debut with McLaren in 2014 – claiming a podium on his Australian Grand Prix debut –, was demoted to reserve driver in 2015 to make way for Fernando Alonso, before being dropped altogether in October. However, Magnussen will return to racing in 2016 after being called up to replace the ousted Pastor Maldonado, the Venezuelan axed due to sponsorship issues.
