'Alfa Romeo could enter own F1 team'

Alfa Romeo could return to Formula One with their own team rather than simply putting their name to an engine provided by Ferrari, FIAT Chrysler chief executive Sergio Marchionne said on Friday. "Alfa Romeo are capable of making their own chassis, just as they are capable of making engines," he told Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper in an interview, without specifying a timeframe. Marchionne, who is also Ferrari president, first raised the possibility of Alfa returning as a competitor when he spoke to reporters at Ferrari's Maranello factory in December.
