Renault confirms 2016 F1 Programme; Magnussen joins Palmer

The newly returned Renault team have become the first outfit to confirm its 2016 programme after a launch event in Paris on Wednesday, with the team being named as Renault Sport Formula 1. The French outfit, who have taken back over from the Enstone-based Lotus F1 Team, confirmed that the R.S.16 will be the team’s 2016 chassis, while Kevin Magnussen has been confirmed as Jolyon Palmer’s team-mate, replacing Pastor Maldonado. The team also announced that Esteban Ocon has returned to the outfit after being test driver for Lotus in 2014, with the Frenchman assuming the role of Third and Reserve Driver in 2016.
