5 years on: Robert Kubica's last day in F1 machinery

Robert Kubica's F1 career ended on this day 5 years ago with the Polish driver fastest in 2011's pre-season test at Valencia. Kubica's F1 career was a short but intense one. Bursting onto the scene with BMW in 2006, his Friday testing results as well as a competitive outing against Nick Heidfeld ended the career of Jacques Villeneuve. Finishing 7th on his debut in Hungary, he was disqualified for his car being underweight. Just a month later, he scored his first podium by finishing third at Monza.
