Maldonado confirms he won't be on grid

– Pastor Maldonado has confirmed that he has lost his seat at Renault for the upcoming Formula 1 season, and will not be on the grid, with Kevin Magnussen set to be named as his replacement this week.Maldonado joined Lotus from Williams for the 2014 season and was confirmed to race alongside fellow GP2 champion Jolyon Palmer before Renault completed its takeover of the team late last year.Although Renault had stated that the line-up would not change, the French manufacturer and Maldonado's long-time backer, Venezuelan state-owned oil company PDVSA, recently fell out over payments.Venezuela has experienced significant political change, while global oil prices have...
