Ecclestone backs F1 drivers over tyres

– Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has backed recent calls from drivers to introduce 'flat out' tyres, but reckons teams should do more to assist supplier Pirelli.Pirelli, which returned to Formula 1 in 2011, has worked to a brief of supplying tyres that degrade more, aimed at opening up strategic options and boosting the spectacle.Drivers have expressed frustration at this, due to the need to conserve their tyres, while structural concerns were also raised after two failures at last year's Belgian Grand Prix.Ecclestone's comments follow on from Alex Wurz, the Chairman of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, making clear that drivers want a tyre that "allows them to...
