Renault's 2016 car passes crash tests

Lotus F1 Team Renault's 2016 car has passed the mandatory FIA crash tests, clearing the manufacturer for its full-time return to the sport as a works team this season. Following a period of deliberation, Renault opted to purchase the Enstone operation, which has been run as Lotus since the 2012 campaign. The team, still currently using the Lotus moniker, confirmed on Twitter that its as-yet-unnamed 2016 challenger has cleared the crash tests. Renault has not yet revealed its plans for 2016, with a press conference set to be held in Paris next month.
