Rivola leaves F1 team for academy role

– Massimo Rivola is stepping down as Sporting Director at Ferrari to head up the team's driver academy.Rivola, who has held the role since 2009, will take over the running of the Ferrari Driver Academy from Luca Baldisserri, who recently departed to manage the career of Lance Stroll, a former Ferrari youngster.Stroll, 17, left Ferrari's academy late last year to take up a development role at rival team Williams.Rivola entered Formula 1 with Minardi back in 1998, initially working in the outfit's marketing department before gaining promotion to Team Manager in 2005, a position he retained when it morphed into Toro Rosso.Rivola made the switch to Ferrari for 2009, and acted as Sporting...
