Van der Garde to race at Le Mans in 2016

– Ex-Formula 1 driver Giedo van der Garde has switched to endurance racing for 2016, signing an LMP2 deal with JOTA which includes an attempt at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.Van der Garde, 30, will contest the full European Le Mans Series (ELMS) campaign as part of the arrangement, along with outings at Le Mans and the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.The Dutchman competed in Formula 1 with Caterham in 2013, before switching to Sauber as a test/reserve driver for the 2014 season, in which he made seven practice appearances.Despite holding a contract to race for Sauber in 2015, van der Garde was pushed aside.
