The passing of a pioneer
©DR Maria Theresa de Filippis just passed away at the ripe old age of 89. As the first female Grand Prix driver, while her track record isn't anything to write home about, she'll always deserve a worthy mention in the history books. Always charming and distinguished, she was a frequent visitor to the Italian Grand Prix in the latter part of her life, always garnering the attention and esteem of anyone crossed her path. And occasionally, she'd put herself behind the wheel of a classic Maserati 250F and relive the good old times.
