McLaren legend Tyler Alexander passes away
One of McLaren's founding fathers, Tyler Alexander, has passed away at the age of 75. Alexander worked alongside Bruce McLaren in laying the foundations for one of the sport's longest-standing teams. The American became an incredibly valuable team member, and branched out into heading McLaren's CanAm racing program, which the team grew to dominate in the late 60's and early 70's. Alexander left McLaren in 1983 to partner up with Teddy Meyer and have further stints in IndyCar and Formula One – with Carl Haas' Beatrice Lola team in 1985 – before rejoining McLaren in 1989.
