F1 salutes Schumacher on birthday

The world of Formula 1 has sent its best wishes to Michael Schumacher after the seven-time F1 world champion turned 47 on Sunday (3rd January). Having recently marked the second year anniversary since Schumacher suffered a skiing accident that left him with serious head injuries, Mercedes led the messages to its former driver who turned 47 at the weekend while Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso also posted heartfelt posts on social media. The F1 legend was seriously injured in a skiing accident in the French Alps in December 2013 and after several months in hospital he has been continuing his rehabilitation at home.
