Channel 4 promises no ad breaks during F1 races

Channel 4 has promised fans that there will be no advertising breaks during the live Formula 1 races it shows from next year. In a surprise move, British broadcaster C4 has stepped in to secure the rights to show F1 from 2016 after the BBC was forced to terminate its contract as a cost-cutting measure. C4's contract runs from 2016 to 2018, and will allow it to show 10 live races alongside the highlights packages. The races will be shown free of charge and in high definition. As part of its deal, C4 has agreed – in a first for a British commercial broadcaster – not to interrupt the coverage of races with adverts.
