First 2016 tyre choices due next week
– Formula 1 teams will have to confirm their tyre choices for the Australian Grand Prix next week, under the new free choice regulations recently laid out by the FIA and supplier Pirelli.For the 2016 season, in a bid to open up strategy, Pirelli will nominate three dry weather compounds for each event, from its Ultra Soft, Super Soft, Soft, Medium and Hard rubber.Out of the 13 sets available to each driver, Pirelli will choose two sets for the race (only one of which must be used), along with a set of the softest nominated compound, only for use in Q3.Drivers are free to select any combination of compounds for the other 10 sets.The initial deadline was Friday, but following Pirelli's...
