Rule change paves the way for Toro Rosso/Ferrari deal

Toro Rosso can now complete a deal to use year-old Ferrari engines, after the World Motor Sport Council agreed to allow manufacturers to supply more than one specification of engine. With Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz now keen to keep both his teams in the sport, it was vital to Toro Rosso's future that the FIA passed the ruling. That now means the Faenza based team will likely complete a deal to use Ferrari's current 2015 power unit, whilst Ferrari's remaining customers will have access to the 2016-spec unit.
