McLaren reveals F1 concept car

McLaren has revealed images on a stunning concept Formula 1 car of the future that it believes would take the sport in to a new technological era. The McLaren MP4-X is the brainchild of McLaren Applied Technologies, which was given the task of creating an F1 car without any design constraints. The car features advanced venturi tunnels underneath to deliver ground effect, as well as full active aero – with moveable wings that flip up for corners but go flat on the straights. It is powered by an all-eletric hybrid motor – which can be boosted by induction loops at the track – and features innovation like tyre wear monitoring systems and electronic branding.
