21-race calendar for 2016 confirmed
A meeting at the World Motorsport Council has seen the confirmation of a record-breaking 21-race calendar for the 2016 season, albeit with question marks raised over the future of the US Grand Prix. The updated calendar sees only one tweak to the previously proposed schedule, with the Mexican Grand Prix being brought forward by one week. This means that the event at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will be a back-to-back event with the US Grand Prix, which takes place on the weekend beforehand. The US Grand Prix, despite being scheduled for the 2016 calendar, has recently been subjected to funding cuts and it's place on the calendar is now dependant on negotiations. The announcement...
