Todt and Ecclestone granted greater F1 powers
FIA president Jean Todt and Bernie Ecclestone have been given the power to make recommendations and decisions on key issues within the sport, without the need to go through the F1 Strategy Group. The sport is under increasing pressure to implement change, but the way in which decisions are made - with unanimous support often required - it makes putting said change into practice very difficult. Therefore the World Motor Sport Council has granted Todt and Ecclestone power to implement change if necessary.
