Grosjean ends Lotus career with fine top ten charge

Romain Grosjean produced a fitting conclusion to his four years with the Lotus team after making an alternative strategy work en route to ninth position. The Frenchman was forced to start towards the back of the field after being halted by a gearbox problem in qualifying, but mirrored Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel with a soft-soft-supersoft tyre strategy as he clawed his way back through the order. Making his move towards the end of the race with the more favourable rubber, he passed both Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat in the closing laps to secure ninth place.
