Alonso and Verstappen handed penalty points
Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen have picked up penalty points after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Alonso was handed penalty points after colliding with Pastor Maldonado at the first corner on the opening lap of the 2015 finale. He was able to continue, but was given a drive-through penalty, which heavily compromised his race. The Spaniard was then awarded two penalty points for the Maldonado incident, his first of the year. Meanwhile Verstappen was found to have ignored blue flags. The stewards investigated after the race and handed him a drive-through penalty, which meant 20 seconds were added to his final time.
