Rosberg secures Abu Dhabi pole position – Qualifying report

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – Nico Rosberg takes his sixth consecutive pole position ahead of Lewis Hamilton at the Yas Marina circuit as he bids to win three races in a row for the first time in his career. Some of the drivers elected to bolt on a set of super-soft tyres straight away to capitalise on the track temperatures, which would drop as the session went into dusk. The Mercedes duo immediately went to the top of the charts on the red-walled tyres, with Hamilton posting a 1:40.974 and edging Rosberg by just over one tenth of a second.
