Mercedes retains Ocon as junior driver

– Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has confirmed that the brand has taken up its option to retain GP3 points leader Esteban Ocon as a junior driver for the 2016 season.Ocon, European Formula 3 champion in 2014, signed for Mercedes earlier this year, combining DTM reserve duties alongside his GP3 commitments with ART Grand Prix.Ocon holds a two-point GP3 title lead after qualifying for the Abu Dhabi finale."We have taken up the option on him because he has been with us following the DTM team for a while now," said Wolff during Friday's team boss press conference in Abu Dhabi."He's integrated well [at Mercedes] and he's doing a very good job in GP3."Wolff added that Ocon's...
