Ex-Ferrari Academy racer Stroll gets Williams development role
Ex-Ferrari Academy member Lance Stroll has joined the Williams Formula 1 team’s young driver development programme. Stroll, 17, will undergo extensive simulator work, work placements with several factory departments, and specific race engineering and marketing training, in a similar capacity to that of current driver Valtteri Bottas when he joined the team in 2011. The Canadian teenager, who finished fifth in his maiden season with Prema Powerteam in this year’s Formula 3 European Championship, will continue with the reigning champions for 2016. “I’m really honoured to be part of such a great team and one with so much history and success,” said Stroll. “I cannot wait to start...
