McLaren unimpressed with "desperate" Mercedes' concerns over 2017 rules
McLaren has labelled Mercedes' safety worries about the 2017 regulations as simply a "desperate" effort to ensure its Formula 1 advantage is not wiped away. Motorsport.com revealed earlier that, in a report submitted to technical directors at a meeting earlier this week, Mercedes expressed reservations about whether tyres could cope with the high aero loads being predicted for 2017. The FIA has asked a number of outfits to work with Pirelli over the next few weeks to come up with proper simulation data so as to check the validity of the concerns.
