Rosberg beats Hamilton to Brazil GP pole

Mercedes AMG Petronas Nico Rosberg secured his fifth successive pole position after edging out Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton during qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Rosberg led Hamilton after the first runs in Q3 after a mistake by the Briton at Bico de Pato, and the German improved on his second lap to a 1:11.282. Hamilton crossed the line 0.078s adrift of Rosberg, with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel a distant third. Valtteri Bottas qualified in fourth place but will drop to seventh as a result of his penalty for a red flag infringement in practice.
