Hamilton comfortably fastest in Brazil opener

Mercedes AMG Petronas World Champion Lewis Hamilton set the quickest time for Mercedes during the first practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos. Hamilton traded fastest laps with Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg initially before pulling clear, recording a 1:13.543, 0.519s up on the German. Sebastian Vettel was third for Ferrari, despite a moment at Juncao, while Daniel Ricciardo was fourth as he trialled Renault’s upgraded power unit. Kimi Räikkönen was fifth for Ferrari, though his session came to a premature end when he suffered a lurid moment under braking for Descida do Lago and spun through the gravel.
