Vandoorne confirms McLaren reserve role

McLaren Honda GP2 champion Stoffel Vandoorne has confirmed that he will act as McLaren's test and reserve driver for the 2016 season, replacing the outgoing Kevin Magnussen. Vandoorne has been part of McLaren's young driver scheme for several years and romped to the 2015 GP2 crown, alongside conducting some duties with the Formula 1 squad. Vandoorne will now officially step up to a reserve role with the outfit but is hopeful of combining his duties alongside a race seat, most likely in Japan's Super Formula category.
