Todt apologises for 2016 F1/Le Mans schedule conflict FIA President Jean Todt has apologised for 2016 conflicting F1 timetable that has the first Azerbaijan Grand Prix taking place on the same weekend as the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours. The inaugural Azerbaijan Grand Prix had originally been set for July 15-17 but the FIA freshly published a revised 2016 F1 calendar that brought the Baku forward to the June 17-19 weekend, namely when the French endurance classic is planned. The only tiny advantages, Todt has been able to provide is the conclusion to each race will be at different times, with a three-hour time difference between Le Mans and Azerbaijan playing a part.
